“With the area being mostly Spinifex and not a great deal else, it does allow us to search a huge area by air very thoroughly and quickly

Karratha Sgt Alby Van Den Berg said the search area had been expanded and staff from the Perth emergency operations unit were in Karratha today to review the operation.

He said concerns were held for Ms Marshall, but there was “ample fresh water” after recent torrential rains and localised flooding.

Tracy Marshall's body has been found.

Three years after Tracy Marshall disappeared during Severe Tropical Cyclone Carlos, her body has been found in scrubland.

A man conducting maintenance on power lines close to where her car was found stumbled across a human skeleton.

Forensic tests proved the remains were those of Tracy Marshall.

It is not clear how she died.

Ms Marshall's father, Quinton Bricknell, said he found it hard to understand why Tracy's remains were not found during earlier searches.

The vegetation around the area was extremely low.

Inspector Martin Voyez said that the information collected in the 2013 coronial inquest would be reviewed "to piece together if anything is different from what we were first told in 2011, to what we now know today."

"Myself and other police officers here in Karatha will make every effort to get to the truth of this matter."

Mr Bricknell said he had recently been able to visit the place where Tracy's body had been found."

Now we know what the situation is - Tracy won't be coming home - that's the way it is."
